A Czech-born Chinese girl, Shan, meets a Chinese young man who is lost in her neighborhood. Out of curiosity and kindness, she leads him to his residence and decides to stay with him. They bond over a world map and begin a conversation about the young man’s hometown. Shan unknowingly challenges him with her questions. Shan is left alone with his camera when a phone call interrupts them. As she plays with it, she overhears his concern about rejection from his own kind. To comfort him, Shan takes him to a hidden playground in the forest where they discuss their names. The young man suggests a different interpretation of Shan's name but refuses to share his own. Their bond grows stronger as the young man asks if Shan has met someone like him. Shan goes to school with a stronger sense of self, however, it is also when she hears the young man leaving with his suitcase.
