Homeless 17-year-old Karim is looking for Gégé, his drug-addict father, to tell him that they have at last been offered social housing. He finds him in a sordid squat, suffering from advanced withdrawal symptoms. Karim manages to convince his father to go with him, but two stoked dealers turn up at the squat. Gégé decides to stay. So Karim is faced with an impossible dilemma.

Olivier Panier:
Born in Brussels in 1977, Olivier Panier studied clinical psychology at UCLouvain, after which he dedicated more than 15 years to projects providing help and safety to those suffering from mental health issues, addiction, and homelessness. A long-time cinephile, Olivier Panier enlisted in 2017 at the IAD and followed a production course, which allowed him to numerous film projects (documentaries, short films, feature films). In 2021, he turned to scriptwriting and filmmaking.
"Underdogs", which draws from his experience with homelessness and addiction, is his first short film.
