The Landlady
Back to listSynopsis
Johanna has a major weakness: she is a dreamer. Her greatest wish is to have an apartment where she can truly live and feel at home. She has actually already found one, if only it weren’t for her landlady, Mrs. Schrankinger, and the lawyer, Dr. Winter. They are making her life a living hell. But Johanna also has a great strength: she is a dreamer. While Johanna (Marlene Hauser) has been searching for an affordable apartment for months, Liliane Schrankinger (Margarethe Thiesel) has been looking for income that will cover her fixed costs with as little work as possible. Fortunately, Mrs. Schrankinger meets real estate agent Mario Graf (Lukas Watzl), who not only helps her rent out the apartment but also squeezes as much money as possible out of the deal. Johanna moves into Mrs. Schrankinger's apartment, but her joy is short-lived as Mrs. Schrankinger soon begins hounding her with the nastiest landlord tricks. Until a grande finale turns it all around in the most unexpected way.
