Biography:
Alona Rodeh is a Berlin-based visual artist, scenographer, and urban practitioner. Her practice is rooted in the perception of the nocturnal built environment, exploring visual and sonic feelings of safety. She creates immersive environments incorporating light, sound, and motion in virtual and physical spaces, directs short films, practices night walks, and more. With an emphasis on public space and audiences, she has shown works extensively inside and outside institutions and museums. She won numerous prizes and grants, including the Young Artist Prize from the Israeli Ministry of Culture. She has shown her works extensively in various institutions and museums (among others: Museum Marta Herford DE, Tel Aviv Musuem IL, Kunstpalais Erlangen DE, Salzburger Kunstverein AUT, La Casa Encendida SP), galleries (Dittrich & Schleichtriem DE, Christine Koenig Galerie AUT, Rosenfeld Gallery IL), and public spaces. She teaches at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design IL, and advocates for Dark Sky International.
