Documentary essay that follows the curandera Francisca Hernández, who belongs to a long family of midwives, hueseras and exorcists, who dedicate their lives to the healing of extensive communities in Veracruz, particularly in a ritual celebration dedicated to Death that occurs every year. The film explores magical-religious syncretism and transculturation in occult faith practices through a sensorial approach to nature and the echoes of mysticism that reside within it.

Director's bio:
He studied communication, audiovisual languages and photography. He has been invited to participate in international film labs such as IDFAcademy, QUMRA, Conecta Chile, BoliviaLab, Doculab, Docslab, among others. He has been coordinator of the festivals "Ambulante documentary tour" and "Oftálmica independent film festival" and founder of the open air cinema forum KILTRO CINEMA in Coatepec Veracruz. Teacher at the Escuela Veracruzana de Cine Luis Buñuel, workshop leader for IMCINE, jury-tutor for PECDA, collaborator for the German television ARDtv, editor of educational material in collaboration with Red Mediación Artística de Chile. He has received scholarships from the Doha Film Institute, Ford Foundation, IMCINE, FOCINE FONCA, PECDA, among others. As a director, his debut film "Pies Ligeros" toured more than 30 festivals around 15 countries, and won 5 international awards. "Rio de Sapos" had its world premiere at FICUNAM 2024 in the "Now Mexico" section. He is currently in the development stage of his third feature documentary "El corazón de las nubes".
