In a small town in Italy, the boy Matteo lives surrounded by coffins and sickness. Faced with this nonsense every day, he dreams of dying a hero's death in the bullring. Thousands of miles away, a calf, Fandango, grows up unaware of the purpose for which he was born: to become a fighting bull and face a death match in front of thousands of people.
