While still asleep a woman is dragged from her house by a huge black mass. She is taken to a meadow where she finds a group of different women and girls existing with the stillness and sporadic impulsiveness of a clan of cows that were never tamed. The woman spends the night imitating the bovine behavior of the group until dawn, when the group merges?also absorbing the woman?into a homogeneous body that is revealed to the viewer as the enormous black mass at the beginning. THE MASS moves back to town to take a new woman at nightfall.

Director's bio:
Visual artist. Her main field of work and exploration is experimental animation and analog animation drawn frame by frame. Her first work as an animator “Avistamiento de las islas vivas” (2020) is a web installation that is part of the virtual catalog Program C of the La Tertulia Museum in Cali, Colombia. She participated as a color artist in the short film “Decaer” by Juan Camilo González. She participated in the short film “La Perra” by Carla Melo Gampert, which had its international premiere in the shorts competition at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and has been screened at festivals such as TIFF, AFI, Annecy, DokLeipzig, Zinebi, among others. In 2021, she received support from F.D.C for the making and direction of her first animated short film “Cuerpo de esta sombra” which will have its international premiere at Tricky Women Tricky Realities (Vienna, Austria) and national premiere at the International Festival of Cartagena de Indias ( FICCI). She is a member of the Porosa Animación collective that focuses on the research, visualization and creation of experimental animation in Colombia and Latin America. She is Production Coordinator at the Bogotá studio Dinamita Animación.
