Synopsis

After Les quatre cents coups (The 400 Blows) , Truffaut filmed the continuation of Antoine Doinel's adventures (in a "series" of six films made over twenty years). The first "sequel" to the series of adventures of Jean-Pierre Léaud's character is a short film, made independently but as part of the collective L'Amour à vingt ans. In Antoine et Colette, Antoine Doinel falls in love with a girl he meets at a classical music concert, courts her, but ends up being rejected when he befriends her parents. A delightful fable about romanticism that also reveals the documentary dimension of Truffaut's work.
