The Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival will return to the city of Porto, Portugal, between 22 and 30 November 2024. With an eclectic philosophy, the festival's main venues are the Batalha Film Centre and the Passos Manuel Cinema.
Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival is a film festival in Porto dedicated to "cinema of the real" and committed to showcasing new forms of cinematic expression that extend and test the boundaries of what is possible in documentary film. In addition to its already established competitive strands (International, Cinema Falado, Transmission and Cinema Novo) dedicated to the most stimulating work being produced in contemporary cinema, the festival also includes thematic programmes, retrospectives of some of the biggest names in international cinema, screenings for children and young audiences, as well as several spaces for debate, workshops, parties and events for the film industry. Combining thought with action, Porto/Post/Doc presents itself as a space to debate current social issues and seeks, through cinema, to find new ways of thinking and envisioning the world, starting with the local – the city, the country and neighbouring regions. The festival occupies various spaces in Porto, a historic and cosmopolitan city, and home to a vibrant artistic community, from which we reimagine the "real".
