Synopsis

On the eve of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Augie Fabela, a US police officer, and Dmitry Zimin, a former Soviet top-secret scientist turned philanthropist and sole public donor to Alexei Navalny, embark on Zimin’s final journey before his euthanasia, reflecting on a life spanning from Cold War to peace and the inevitable return to the new war. Impressive in its narrative architecture, flawlessly orchestrated, easy to grasp despite the material’s complexity, and wonderfully edited, Connected is the kind of investigative documentary we need more of. F@ck This Job’s Vera Krichevskaya continues to put under the microscope highly relevant and important issues, daring to deconstruct Vladimir Putin’s ideological dominance over her homeland once more. Simultaneously, she paints the portrait of an exceptionally fascinating figure, who shares her memoirs with us. A dynamic creator with a clear objective, who knows exactly how to achieve it.
