The 25-year-old Huluager is heavily pregnant with her fourth child. The local healthcare system offers her healthcare and encourages her to give birth at the clinic - if the ambulance actually turns up. At the same time, Hulu is skeptical of a system that lacks compassion and does not include her in choices about her own body.

«Among Us Women» explores different women's perspectives on the physical, cultural and structural factors that prevent them from seeking help during pregnancy and childbirth. With incredible familiarity, the film captures intimate moments between Huluager, the midwives and other women in the same situation.
