A true love story about how the man who has dedicated his career to memory begins to lose his own.

The couple Augusto Góngora and Paulina Urrutia have been together for 23 years. She is an actress and former Minister of Culture. He is a renowned journalist, particularly famous for having fought to preserve Chile’s memories of the dictatorship. They have stayed together through thick and thin, and are apparently just as in love as they were in the 90s.
In 2014, Augusto is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and the couple decide to document their journey.
«The Eternal Memory» is made from archive material, recent clips, and footage Paulina filmed alone with her husband. It all intertwines into an intimate and unfiltered documentary about love, grief and the value of memories.
About the director:
Maite Alberdi is a Chilean director and producer. «The Eternal Memory» is her fifth feature film, and the film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023. In 2021, her film «The Mole Agent» (2020) was nominated for best documentary at the Oscars.
