Deaf La Singla was one of the world's best flamenco dancers, until she suddenly disappeared. Why does no one remember her today?
Antonia Singla was born deaf in Barcelona in the 1940s. Despite her lack of hearing, she learned to dance flamenco by feeling the vibrations and imitating the rhythm. She quickly became a recognized and revolutionary dancer, but when she turned 30 she abruptly left the limelight.
Fifty years later, filmmaker Paloma Zapata discovers archive material from Singla's heyday. She decides to find the flamenco dancer and get to the bottom of why she went missing. «La Singla» is a heartbreaking story about a woman who was ahead of her time and was unjustly left out of the history books.
