«The Takeover» is filmed between 2021 and 2022, while the Taliban took back control of Afghanistan. Here, the country's rapid upheaval into a military regime is documented, and all the women who refuse to lose their rights.

Director Anders Hammer follows female protesters, enforcers of the Taliban rule and collects the mixed response from the population across the country, from when one regime ends and another takes power. The film won the Jury Prize at the 2023 Sheffield Documentary Film Festival.

Hva har skjedd i Afghanistan siden Talibans overtagelse?Filmene «The Takeover» og «Hollywoodgate» tar for seg ulike perspektiver på hva som skjedde under og etter Talibans gjenerobring av makten i 2022. Hva er situasjonen nå, og hva kan være veien videre?

 

Mellom visningene av de to filmene blir det samtale mellom regissør av «The Takeover» Anders Hammer, og Ragnhild Sørheim fra Afghanistankomiteen. 

 

Det blir servering av afghansk te og snacks.

 

Dette arrangementet er i samarbeid med Afghanistankomiteen.


About the director:
Anders Hammer is a Norwegian journalist, writer and documentary filmmaker. He has made a number of documentary series and films, and he gained particular attention when the short film «Do Not Split» (2020) was nominated for best short documentary by the Oscars.
