Come on the inside of the life, mind and heart of the artist Frida Kahlo - told for the first time in her own words.

Kahlo is one of the greatest artists from the 20th century and many have tried to retell her life and work. Filmmaker Carla Gutiérrez has dug into archive material such as diaries, letters, essays and interviews, to get hold of the artist's reflections and perspectives on her own art and inner life.

The excerpts are visualized with music and animation inspired by Kahlo's distinct and unforgettable artwork. With reverence and consideration, «Frida» invites us to get to know the artist on her own terms.

About the director:
Carla Gutiérrez is a Spanish editor and director. Among other things, she has been the editor for the Oscar-nominated films «RBG» (2018) and «La Corona» (2008). Her projects have received several Emmy nominations and awards at, among others, Sundance, Tribeca and the Berlinale. «Frida» is her directorial debut.
